Original caption: Langley Collyer, who has lived since 1909 with his blind and paralyzed older brother, Homer, in a decaying four-story house at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 128th Street, is shown with a portrait camera that interested him on his visit to the photographic studio in the Herald Tribune Building. He made the visit at the invitation of a Tribune reporter who was sitting on the crumbling steps of the darkened home when Mr. Collyer appeared suddenly Wednesday night to announce that he is willing to "make a settlement" with the Bowery Savings Bank, which foreclosed a mortgage on the house. |
